Saturday, February 26, at 9 am, about 150 demonstrators, bringing together members of the prison staff of the central house of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, their families and several elected officials, gathered at the bridge entrance Island Re, on the tip of Sablanceaux. Everyone wanted their support for the draft in Dompierre-sur-Mer on the implementation of the future Centre County Prison.

Determined, they were. Or mist, or the 6 miles to go on the bridge were frightened demonstrators. Led by union representatives, members of the prison house of the Central St. Martin, often accompanied by their families had received support from numerous elected Rétais and deputy mayor of La Rochelle and President of the Urban Community Maxime Bono. This is also the holder of the relocation project the future Centre County Prison in Dompierre-sur-Mer, in the town of La Rochelle.
Bussereau, President of the General Council of Charente-Maritime, meanwhile defended the draft Fontenet near Saint-Jean d'Angely. He was visiting the prison of Saint-Martin before the event.
By this symbolic action, which was blocking the bridge for two hours, protesters have demonstrated that they "would fight to the end to defend the project against that of Dompierre Fontenet" said union representatives.
